WHEN
Saturday, September 20, 2008
Registration begins at 6:30 a.m.
The 5K begins at 7:30 a.m.
The Kid K begins at 8:30 a.m.

WHERE
The runs begin at First United Methodist Church at 5th and Madison, in downtown McGregor. (Click here to see map). Registration will be held in the church's fellowship hall.

COURSE
All runs stay in the residential district of the city.

KID K
The Kid K will be 6/10th of a mile run, and will be open to kids ages 10 and under.

ENTRY FEE
$10 for Kid K
$17 for the 5K if postmarked by 9-15-08
$20 for the 5K if later than 9-15-08

TIMING
The Waco Striders are managing and doing the timing for the 2008 Founders Day 5K and 10K.

RACE RESULTS
Race results will be posted online at www.wacostriders.com.

T-SHIRT, PACKET & NUMBER PICK-UP
Race t-shirts, packets and numbers can be picked up prior to the runs at registration.

SCOTTISH OUTFIT RUN
The male & female 5K participants who wear Scottish clothing for the entirety of the race will be judged at the after-race party by who has the best Scottish costume. Winners will receive an award.

DIRECTIONS
From Waco: Take Highway 84 west to McGregor. In McGregor, take a left onto Johnson Drive, which runs between Extraco Bank and Brookshire Brothers. Continue on Johnson Drive for 0.6 miles; take a left onto 6th Street.

From Gatesville: Take Highway 84 west to McGregor. In McGregor, take a right onto Johnson Drive, which runs between Extraco Bank and Brookshire Brothers. Continue on Johnson Drive for 0.6 miles; take a left onto 6th Street.

From Crawford: Take Highway 317 south to McGregor. In McGregor, turn right onto Highway 84. Continue on Highway 84 for 0.75 mile. Take a left onto Johnson Drive, which runs between Extraco Bank and Brookshire Brothers. Continue on Johnson Drive for 0.6 miles; take a left onto 6th Street.

From Temple: Take Highway 317 north to McGregor. In McGregor, turn left onto Bluebonnet Parkway, passing the football field and schools on your right. Veer to the right when the road splits. Turn right onto 6th Street.

PARKING
The downtown area is blocked off to thru traffic due to the day's festivities. Park on 6th Street, on side roads between 5th and 6th Streets, or in the parking lots of First United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church or Church of Christ parking lots located on 6th Street. Do not park inside festival boundaries.
