They Came.
McGregor made it possible, practical and profitable. Consider the up-front incentives as well as the long-term factor of working with a city that continues to jump through hoops "after the sale."

ASK JIM WHAT IT'S LIKE
Jim Chastain,
H&M Construction Project Superintendent for Ferguson Plumbing Distribution Center

"My construction career spans 41 states, so when I've hit the jackpot, I know it. And that's what McGregor is - a gold mine for anyone with a major project and a need for complete cooperation. To supply Ferguson, the City undertook a new water main, 12,000 feet of it from a water tower, and delivered ahead of schedule. When we needed temporary utilities to service our office complex, they were here in a flash. I couldn't ask for better city officials to work with. And I have to mention that the land is flat which makes it easy to work with, too. A combination you can't beat!"

ASK DICK HOW IT WORKS
Dick Fox,
Former General Manager,
29 years Smead Manufacturing

"I brought Smead to McGregor in 1970. During my tenure at the plant, we expanded twice from 75,000 sq. ft. to 181,000 and from 25 employees to 395. You can imagine that a septic tank could grow to be a problem. As soon as it was, McGregor officials reacted as they always do. "We'll solve it." City sewer was on the way. Since some cities are good at courting but poor at marriage, I'll assure you that McGregor wants you to be just as satisfied 10 years out as on the 'first date.' This city gave my four children an outstanding education, and I'm happy to be retiring here. That says a lot in itself."
