Area L of the McGregor Industrial Park was formerly used for testing
of rocket engines. Test stands, an office building and an underground
control room for firing of test stands occupy this area. The site
contains a vertical stand capable of test firing engines up to a
thrust level of 50,000 lbs., and a horizontal stand, which has a
capacity of 3 million lbs. (The largest engine fired on this stand
was an 810,000 lb. thrust engine).
This property would be an excellent location for aeronautical or
engine testing and is located miles from business facilities that
would be effected by testing. These facilities can be made available
for purchase or lease more reasonably than new construction.
