Rob Blanchard served this country with honor and distinction in the United States Navy for  over 23 years. He specialized in aviation maintenance achieving the rank of Lieutenant Commander, Officer in Charge – Command Aviation Detachment, Naval Air Station, Fallon, NV. He came to the McGregor Executive airport in 2000 as the Fixed Base Operations Manager with Aurora Aviation. In 2003 the City of McGregor was able to hire him as the Airport Manager where he uses his expertise to guide the day-to-day operations of the airport and manage an aggressive airport improvement program which is largely grant funded.

McGregor provides air access to the area by means of the McGregor Executive Airport. This former World War II training facility was acquired by the city in 1947. It has been the recipient of extensive capital improvements projects  by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Aviation Division with grants totaling in excess of $10 million, which includes grants for the expansion of taxiway and hangar facilities, a grant to install a game resistant perimeter fence and a grant to construct apron area, t-hangar and rehabilitate runway.

The McGregor Executive Airport is located approximately  7 miles east of down town McGregor and 7 miles west of down town Waco. The airport has two runways with the primary runway 17/35 is 5,501 in length (lighted) with PAPI’s  and the parallel runway 4/22 which is 3,484 in length. The airport currently has  eleven based business jets and 79 airplanes with 65 T-Hangars / 17 Private Hangars , and available land to construct more in the future.

The Fixed Based Operator (FBO) , JAG Aviation, Inc. has a professional staff to accommodate all  of your  aviation needs from  minor to major maintenance repairs , including fuel purchases of JET-A or AVGAS . The 4,500 square foot terminal facility has a pilots lounge, flight planning and weather room and conference room . In addition, located in the terminal is Aurora Flight School which operates three flight school planes at the airport.

The airport is also home for JETPRO Texas which is an inventory, management and jet sales company with a 30,225 square feet facility/ hangar.

The McGregor Executive Airport will continue to participate in the FAA/TXDOT Capital Improvement Program to accomplish the City of McGregor’s airport master plan and ensure a safe flying environment with the latest technology designed to assist the air commuting public.
